All three of us love animals. Ken always had dogs and cats growing up. I have always had a dog ever since 8th Grade. When I got married to Ken, he had two boxer mix puppies and a crazy cat. Since then, we have always had boxer/boxer-mixes. We would often talk about taking a break from having pets, so we can travel -- but for some reason, when one of our pups had to cross the rainbow bridge, a new one crawled / wiggled in to that empty spot on our couch.
Our current couch keepers are Zuki and Bumper. This picture is of Bumper, a goofy pup we got from Northwest Boxer Rescue -- an amazing organization full of dedication and love for dogs. Bumper's previous people did not take him when they moved away, so the NW Boxer Rescue took him in, and had a wonderful foster family take care of him so he would get used to being indoors, and to bring out his playful self out. When we got him from his foster parents, Bumper was a bit shy and still unsure. The only toy he would
play with was the old leash and collar he came with. Fast forward a few years --- he has a huge tub of toys he plays with (plus some stuffies from our daughter's room and my slippers), and he loves to lounge on couches and beds. He is now a super snuggler!
We have done quite a few of custom pet products (ornaments, tiles, acrylic lights, etc) for various clients -- if you are interested in one for yourself or as a gift to someone, let us know!
ケンさんも私も小さいころから動物のいる家庭で育ってきました。もっとも私は中２の時からですけど。私がケンさんと結婚したときには、もれなく犬2匹と猫1匹がついてまいりました・・・ 犬はボクサー系のミックス犬でした。以来なぜか、うちには常時2匹のボクサーおよびボクサー系ミックス犬がいます。ボクサーは、見かけが怖そうに見えなくもないのですが、ひょうきんでおバカな犬種です。
いま我が家にいるのは、ズッキーさんとバンパー君（バム）です。バムは、もとの飼い主に置き去りにされているところをボクサーレスキューの団体に保護された子です。（この団体はとっても素敵な団体なので、興味のあるかたは、是非上記のリンクからチェックしてみてくださいね！） レスキュー団体のボランティアの里親さんが、数か月かけて医療チェックをしたり、室内での生活にバムを慣れさせてくれて、うちとの面会となりました。 最初からなつっこかったものの、うちにきてすぐのバムは、まだどこかおどおどしたり、シャイな感じでした。おもちゃで遊ぶこともよくできなくて、自分がつながれていたリーシュをくわえて歩いていました。ソファにも乗らず、床の片隅にちまっと丸くなっていました。
そして数年後のいま・・・・もはやソファから降りろといっても降りない、りっぱな自信満々のわんこに育ちましたとさ。です。めでたしめでたしですね。ソファに人間座れないですよ。顔つきもすっかりドヤ顔になっていますよ。
